Power new dance in Seattle
YOU can help power new dance in Seattle!
Power2Give supports Velocity’s Bridge Project 2016
“The Bridge Project was an unbelievable experience for me. It grew my network exponentially and provided tremendous insight into what this city, and its arts community, has to offer.”
— Hannah Simmons, 2015 Bridge Project Artist
As Velocity’s incubator for emerging artists, The Bridge Project shapes the future of dance in the Northwest by creating a platform that brings together dancers and choreographers brand new to Seattle, or who have been making work in Seattle for three years or less. The Bridge Project has been instrumental in helping to launch the careers of many artists in our community including recent Made in Seattle artists Anna Conner + Babette DeLafayette, recent Men in Dance choreographer Dylan Ward, 2015 Artist in Residence Alice Gosti, plus Amy O’Neal, zoe | juniper, Markeith Wiley, Shannon Stewart + many more.
Help us reach our $7,500 goal for Bridge Project 2016! Your gift will help cover the costs of each artist’s 4-week residency. This intensive residency program provides artists 45 hours of free rehearsal space for a new project, the opportunity to work with a cast of auditioned dancers, and a fully produced weekend of performances. There’s no better way to foster new contemporary dance in Seattle than through this incubator program.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, every $1 donated to this project via Power2Give will be matched by $0.50. With Power2Give, anyone can make a difference!
