Velocity’s annual fundraising event to benefit Seattle’s epicenter of contemporary dance. This year’s theme is an elegant and immersive evening celebrating the revolutionary spirit of experimentation and collaboration of the Ballets Russes (1909-1929) and the Centennial of Nijinsky’s “crime against grace” Le Sacre du Printemps (1913).

Drive west on Denny Way towards Downtown / Seattle Center / Elliot Bay. Cross Westlake Avenue North, and take the next right onto 9th Avenue North; continue on 9th 3 1/2 blocks.
Approaching 415 Westlake from Aurora Avenue North (Northbound Aurora):
Continue on Aurora through the Battery Street Tunnel; after exiting the tunnel, turn right onto Republican Street. Continue on Republican until you get to 9th Avenue North.

From Aurora, take the Denny Way exit (final exit before entering the Battery Street Tunnel). Turn left onto Denny Way, heading east. Take the first left onto Dexter Avenue North. From Dexter, turn right onto Republican Street; continue on Republican until you get to 9th Avenue North.

Parking is tight in South Lake Union, so we’ve made a number of arrangements to help make it as easy as possible.
Enjoy free parking accessible from either Republican Street or 9th Avenue North.
Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Shirley Jenkins
This Bill Evans founding member and Seattle legend has overcome multiple cancers, and debilitating surgeries to renew her career as a teacher, dancer and choreographer at Velocity. Today she teaches three classes a week at Velocity, including Timeless Modern, whose students include choreographers Pat Graney and Wade Madsen.

Kate Wallich + The YC
Rising Seattle super star Kate Wallich brings together PNB luminary Andrew Bartee, Matt Drews and presenting artist Erica Badgeley in an exquisite world premiere “White of Spring”.
Saint Genet
Saint Genet’s Artistic Director Ryan Mitchell is “The Provocateur” of City Arts 2013 Future List. His company performs internationally and are part of the On the Boards 2013 Season.
zoe | juniper
Velocity 2012 Artist-in-Residence and Artist Trust fellow, collaborative team Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey, are known for their visual and dance-based performances and installations, garnering national attention.
Jürg Koch
Jürg Koch’s intergenerational Rite of Spring premiered at Meany Hall this fall. An excerpt of the piece will be accompanied by Mark Haim and Beau van Kirk on piano.
Mark Haim
Mark Haim is a choreographer, teacher and dancer born in NYC and trained at Juilliard. He had been commissioned by Nederlands Dans Theater, Ballett Frankfurt, the José Limón Dance Company, and the Joffrey II Dancers. Mark opened the 15th Artdanthé Festival (Paris) in January 2013.
