DANCE FILM CHALLENGE SCREENING

The V2 Dance + Film Residency is offered by Northwest Film Forum and Velocity Dance Center to two artistic teams selected through a Dance Film Challenge. Teams will submit 2-minute dance films reflecting the Capitol Hill neighborhood and the crossroads that Capitol Hill artists, communities and residents are facing in this period of rapid development and change.
Submitted films will be screened at the Dance Film Challenge Screening on THURS SEPT 29 / 7PM as part of Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings 2016, and YOU, the audience, will get to vote on which team you’d like to see receive the residency!

about the residency
Selected teams will be given a one-month residency in the loading dock area of V2 Collaborative Art Space, and an equipment and editing suite grant from NWFF.
Residency I: September 5th – October 5th
Residency II: October 5th – November 5th
Both completed projects will premiere as a part of Velocity Dance Center’s Next Dance Cinema 2016, on December 5th.
Exact days/times of the residency will be determined based on artist and venue schedule and availability.
