make a gift in lieu

Can’t be there in person? Be there in spirit by making a gift in lieu supporting our scholarship fund!

Velocity is excited to establish a need-based scholarship fund in our Guest of Honor Mark Haim’s name. Scholarship resources mean anyone with a desire to dance can attend our world-class summer festival Strictly Seattle Summer Intensive and the international Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation — regardless of their economic means.

“I have proudly served on the board of Velocity for more than a decade. When I decided to take a leap into the unknown from a secure teaching position at the University of Washington, Velocity was there to help me through my transition by offering me the opportunity to teach dance classes to the Seattle community, as well as making me Velocity’s Artist in Residence in 2009.  Velocity is integral to my creative life in Seattle, and a crucial creative home for so many Seattle artists, students and lovers of dance.”  — Mark Haim

Many gifted artists lack the financial resources to pursue continuing specialized training, or a career in dance. Requests for scholarships far surpass our ability to provide them.  When you give, 100% of your donation goes directly towards a scholarship for a dance artist with limited financial means. Thank you!

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS!
