DANIEL LINEHAN (WA/Belgium) is an exceptional artist recognized internationally for being on the cutting edge of experimental dance and a celebrated a new voice in contemporary performance.  Born in Olympia, WA, Linehan has not performed in this region since graduating from the University of Washington in 2004. His critically acclaimed solo Not About Everything has been presented in more than 50 venues internationally, but never on the West Coast of the U.S. A major part of Velocity’s mandate is to champion the creation and presentation of Washington State performance. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP + PERFORMANCE
Open to movers and performers of all disciplines interested in engaging in a week-long creative process with an international leader in experimental dance. Participants will explore our connection to our identity, both singular and collective and ask: What do we win, and what do we lose by participating in forms of common action?

The workshop culminates in all participants performing in The Karaoke Dialogues: Seattle Trial, September 12-14 as part of Velocity’s presentation of Guest Artist Daniel Linehan.
